Steve wrote The Secrets of CEOs – 150 Global Chief Executives lift the lid on business, life and leadership in 2008 to understand how the best global CEOs lead today: focusing mainly on Western businesses. Steve followed this book with Dream to Last in December 2012, which explores how the top one hundred Chinese entrepreneurs lead today, including how to build and grow a successful business in China (published in Chinese by Beijing University Press and in partnership with the China Entrepreneur Club).

Steve is the host of the television series CEO Guru (2013 – present), which regularly broadcasts internationally on BBC World News. In this series, Steve conducts in-depth interviews with the world’s most influential business leaders on leadership issues and CEO-related themes. Background
Steve laid the foundation for his credentials through the completion of his Certified Accountant (ACCA) degree from Leeds Beckett University and an MBA from Cranfield/University of Washington. From there he entered the field of management consulting, first with KPMG and then with PA Consulting.
He set up his own companies—Edengene (2000) and Leaders Reloaded (2003)—whose strategies included helping large organisations set up new businesses and leaders revitalise their leadership. From 2004 to 2007, Steve was Managing Partner at worldwide executive search firm, Heidrick & Struggles.
In 2009, he co-founded Xinfu to offer his wealth of over twenty years of experience as a personal confidant to CEOs, a position that allows him to continue to follow his passions.
Steve is particularly focused on forging links between Chinese and Western CEOs. With Liu Donghua (Founder of the China Entrepreneur Club), he co-founded the Zhisland Global Fellowship, which regularly brings together thirty of China’s top business leaders with thirty of the top business leaders from the West to promote business, trade, and cross-cultural understanding.
