Walking a Crooked Smile: An Inner Journey to Peace
by Jerry Wong
About the Book
Within each and every human alive, there exists a sacred space. If one has the will and determination to seek out and find this sacred space within, he/she will connect with something far more valuable and precious than material wealth.
Here is where our powerful Inner Warrior lies dormant; the seed having been planted by the thumb of the Divine Source. The moment we discover our sacred space and consent to the nurturing of our Inner Warrior, a spiritual spark is generated and the seed begins to emerge and grow. Each seed develops in its own unique way, and each seed has the potential to become a Warrior for Peace.
If this message resonates with you, I encourage you to take this journey of discovery.
“Reading Jerry Wong’s book is like being taken on a guided journey into the mystical world of a Peaceful Warrior. The insights he attributes to his life experiences have created a truly inspiring narrative.
Thank you, Jerry, for your courage, wisdom, and perseverance. I know your book will help me with my journey—and who knows, maybe one day we will be standing on that mountain top, enjoying the view together.”

Interview with Jerry Wong
Please share a bit about your journey to become a published author?
My journey into the world of writing began years ago when I began composing a heartfelt letter to my first grandson. I had never intended to become a published author, however, when I showed my draft to some of my senior martial arts students, they suggested I use this letter as a foundation for a book, as they thought the teachings should be shared with the public. Once I realized the possibility that my writings might be of benefit to others on their spiritual journey, I decided to put pen to paper. And so it began.

How does the writing process work for you? Do you schedule a time every day, work madly when inspiration hits or ?
In the beginning stages, I would jot down thoughts, concepts, and life experiences which became a loose framework for my book. Over time, I would add in more stories as they occurred, along with the additions of some of my automatic writings and automatic drawings. Once I felt that I had gathered enough material to put it all into book form, I became freshly inspired to complete my project.
What did you find most difficult about the writing and publishing process? What was the easiest?
Probably the most difficult part was placing all my random writings into a cohesive, organized manner. Also, it was challenging for me to choose which stories to include. The “easy” part came once I was introduced to Julie Ann Salisbury, of Influence Publishing. I’m really appreciative of Julie and her team for all their valuable advice and input. Without their guidance and hand holding, this book would not have made it to print.
What title have you released? Can you share a bit of what it is about?
The title of my book is “Walking a Crooked Smile”, an inner journey to peace. In it, I mention the chaotic state of our world, and the resulting loneliness and helplessness felt around the world. However, the good news is that we humans are now going through an important transition, or shift in consciousness. We’re awakening to the truth that we are not separate from each other, from other species, or from our Divine Source. Although we are all different, we are not ALONE. Actually, we are ALL ONE – cells in the same body. By sharing my personal thoughts and experiences in this book, it’s my intention to encourage questioning in the readers’ minds, which will hopefully lead to inspiring their spiritual growth, and will help to support them on their own spiritual journey.
Do you have any new books in the planning or writing stage?
Not at this time.
What would you like readers to know about you?
I have been involved in the fields of martial arts, graphic arts, Chi Kung, energy healing, and animal communication for most of my adult life. Over the years, they have blended into a synthesis of modern and ancient methods, and I am grateful to have benefited greatly from these studies.
Why do I enjoy animal communication so much?
It’s because the animals’ natural language is energy, so they are completely open to feeling, receiving and giving energy, and also because animals are non-judgemental of others. There’s much we can learn from communicating with animals.
I would like my readers to feel my heart, and to know that my desire to assist them on their own spiritual journey is genuine. I would also like to say that what is written in my book is not necessarily the best, or only way…it’s just one way. There are many paths up the mountain, and it is my hope that my readers search deeply to find their own way.
