What is a Collaborative Book?
Most people are familiar with the “Chicken soup for the Soul” series of books where multiple authors contribute to a book with a common theme. Influence Publishing have taken this concept one step further and created a complete system to bring together like-minded story tellers.
Bringing together your network for a common cause, we manage the whole collaborative book project so you are free to just focus on celebrating the connection and the power of sharing stories.
A Collaborative Publisher
We work with you to create a financial model that makes sense for the purpose of your book.
- Are you creating the book to raise funds for a charity?
- Do you just want to cover the publishing costs by asking your story-tellers to share the costs?
- Do you want to sponsor your story tellers and get your own return on investment through future business connections?
- Do you want to raise capital for your organization so that you can sponsor future story-tellers or to support your financial needs?
We have worked on projects that have sponsored the story-tellers as a philanthropic contribution to society (Dare to Share book series). We have worked with women’s organizations that have raised as much as $30,000 with the book project and organizations that have shared the publishing costs with their story-tellers (Wild and Wise Women, Woman of Worth etc.)
We have all the contracts, copyright and intellectual property systems in place so you keep all the rights and royalties for your book and get the right permission from your story-tellers to share their stories. We handle the ISBN registration, and distribution and publishing details – but you keep all the rights and receive direct payments from the book sellers worldwide. You can buy direct from the printer, no mark up or wholesale pricing.
We facilitate a workshop to help your story-tellers structure their chapter within a tight theme and purpose. We help each contributor in their story development and only ask that they tell their story and submit a raw draft for our editors.
Editing & Design
We work with each chapter story-teller individually on the editing process for their chapter. This process results in a very professional and focused story with clear takeaways and lessons that will then inspire the reader. We don’t accept poor writing or off topic stories. We take each author through a three stage editing process (Developmental, structural, content) and ensure the highest professional standards with a final proof read. (unlike other collaborative project books you may have experienced where the story teller submits a poor quality chapter and that is what gets published other than a spell and grammar check!).
We produce a professional unique cover design and interior design for the book that is in-line with the brand of your network. A book is judged by the cover and we ensure the final selection of Title, sub-title, synopsis and author bio’s are optimized for search engine optimization. We handle all the professional book standard metadata and BISSAC book codes and Amazon categories/keywords, so your book can be found worldwide.
Marketing & Planning
We create a unique worldwide distribution account in your name so you receive sales and royalty information directly. You own the copyright 100% and receive 100% of all sales royalties. You own the book file so your book can be printed by any printer. We upload the data to the world’s largest Book selling computer system so your book can be found by book stores, online stores (including Amazon/ Chapters/ Barnes and Noble), libraries and book wholesalers/ distributors anywhere in the world! (Unlike other publishers that only make your book available on Amazon).
We facilitate a Marketing Strategy meeting with all the authors to launch the book as an Amazon Best seller! We have a proven system to get everyone working with a common purpose to get the word out about the book to their network. When everyone follows the system you are guaranteed to become an Amazon Best Seller on the day of the launch. (unless your book is on the Best Sellers list, your book will never be found)

The Misfit Monologues
As a dyslexic book publisher I have discovered how much the gifts of dyslexia have helped me with the big picture and story development of manuscripts. For me this was the beginning of understanding how I was a “misfit” in the best of ways!
Many famous entrepreneurs have used their “problem solving” skills of Dyslexia and other non-linear ways of thinking, to forge new paradigms of business, and this is what I have done for the publishing industry. It is time to recognize that it is good ‘stories” that make great books and leave the editors to take care of grammar, spelling and sentence structure.
