Interview with Peter Sage
Please share a bit about your journey to become a published author?
I have previous best selling books on amazon and have known Julie for about 15 years. She even got married in my home in Vancouver. Watching her own journey of creating Influence Publishing and the success she has created for so many authors has been amazing. She worked with me on this project virtually with weekly calls and was always there to support.

How does the writing process work for you? Do you schedule a time every day, work madly when inspiration hits or ?
When I first started writing it was awkward and there was little consistency. Sometimes I’d write for a few hours and other times I’d go days without going back to the manuscript. With The Inside Track, it was different. I actually wrote it while spending time in Prison as a non-criminal for contempt. I guess that’s not the best strategy to recommend to other authors though haha.
What did you find most difficult about the writing and publishing process? What was the easiest?
Most difficult about writing is when I go over the content, I tend to tweak more and more and have the book reedited. As for publishing, it is more of learning the process of publishing the book in different sources.
What title (or titles) have you released? Please include a short synopsis of what your book is (or books are) about.
The Inside Track – An Inspirational Guide To Conquering Adversity is very unique. In fact, it was never meant to be a book but instead a series of private letters to my coaching clients showing them the tools on how I was coping and still happy in one of the toughest environments I’d ever faced. Every two weeks whilst going through the ordeal, I would send them a ‘running commentary’ of what was happening and at the same time teach them a syllabus of techniques and insights that would help them in everyday life. The title of the book should probably be called ‘How to be happy in prison – and anywhere else’ as that’s kind of what it is. However, as the story unfolds you start to see the impact the work has, not just on myself but also many of the prisoners I was working with and coaching. It has been called by many, including New York Times bestselling authors, the most incredible book on personal growth they have ever read. I’m pretty humbled by that and it makes the decision to publish the letters the right one.
Other books I have written include – 5 Keys To Master Your Life, I AM: The Power Of Reinventing Yourself and I am a co-author of Lessons Learned from the Recession.
Do you have any new books in the planning or writing stage?
Yes, my next book ‘Earth School’ will be a definitive guide on how to understand the nature of challenges and problems in your life.
What is the biggest take away that you think people will get from reading The Inside Track?
We all have certain fears and we all face certain problems. Whether it’s in business, relationships, health or life in general. Without a strong tool set combined with the right mindset, we can be paralyzed by our challenges rather than use them as an opportunity to become our best self. The Inside Track is an owners manual that provides anyone with a step by step guide to rising above any of the challenges they face.
What would you like readers to know about you?
I have spent 30 years in personal growth, with 15 years of that working as a Trainer with Anthony Robbins. This gave me a strong grounding in understanding human behavior and the unconscious patterns that run us. On top of that I have been a serial entrepreneur since I was 17, building many multinational companies. My passion for sharing my insights has seen me share the stage with the likes of President Bill Clinton and Sir Richard Branson. I’m blessed to live the life I love – empowering others to realize more of their own potential and greatness.
